Welcome to the Zoo

Two weekends ago, or wait maybe 3 now, we went to the Zoo here in SC. It was a gorgeous day and a fun little road trip for Cornell and I. Neither one of us had been to the zoo in years.
We saw some pretty flamingos...

My favorite...the elephants....

Then a big ol' grizzly bear, taking a nap....

Plus many more but I don't want you to fall asleep reading this blog. But it did also have a botanical garden attached which was pretty. Not all the flowers were blooming yet but of course my favorite flower, tulips, were opening...

I also tried my photography skills on my husband all day...now I just need photoshop on my computer!

Okay, enough with the Zoo. Cornell said he was fine if we didn't go back til we had kids. haha.
Things around the Thomas household are coming along. The living room and half bathroom are now painted. Cornell did both all by himself...I'm not much of a painter. He didn't know that when he married me. Poor guy.

After painting, Cornell FINALLY got to mount his prized wedding gift...the flat screen television. We had a hard time deciding what to do for the shelf below the tv, we got this shelf from IKEA but not sure if we will end up keeping it there. So now we are working on the guest room because we have GUESTS COMING!!! YAY! We are so excited for my parents to come this weekend. I think Cornell is more excited than I am if that is possible! They are driving from Minnesota so please pray for their safe trip here. :)

A little paint...

goes a long way.

I have been meaning to put these before and after photos of your front porch rocking chairs FOREVER. I think a few weeks ago, I mentioned how we were given our washer/dryer and 2 rocking chairs in need of some love. Here's the before picture...

Along with all the necessary tools(I'm missing the handy husband in this photo)...

And, Wa-LA....

They turned out great! Now I just need 2 cute outdoor pillows for them. I have my eye on some at Target, but just waiting for them to be on sale!

He is RISEN...

Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a blessed day and is reminded of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for each one of us. He DIED for OUR sins! Isn't that amazing!

Cornell and I went to church this morning and then headed to have a delicous breakfast at...um..IHOP. LOL...not your typical Easter meal, i know. I had searched for the perfect Easter brunch, but somehow all the resorts/restaurants thought that someone might actually pay $49.00 per person to eat there! We said a big no thanks and spent $25 at IHOP. Those pancakes are so dense huh Bry? :)

We then came home, I took a lovely nap and Cornell ran to Home Depot to get our hardwood floors. After that, we took Charlotte for walk around our neighborhood{I noticed there is still no water in our pool(what the heck?!)}, made dinner, and just relaxed. We definitely enjoyed our time together this weekend, it was much needed after a long week.

I got some pictures from my parents today...of course they involved the CuTesT baby ever...How about Noah's Easter basket from Grandpa and Grandma....

I LOVE this picture of Grandpa and Noah, he's smiling...
I didn't get emotional until I saw this picture of my mom and Noah, then the tears started coming...

Isn't it so precious?

Uncle Dubz even made it to Duluth for Easter day...Bry's biceps look bigger than Noah.

I just can't wait to meet that little guy! :)

Up and running...

Okay so the Thomas family has been fighting a bad computer bug for the past week, and tonight finally got help from my bro Bryan. Thanks so much again Bry! Our computer is up and running again! We have been taking lots of pics with our new camera and LOVE it...too late tonight to post them all but here is one of my favs from last week...
Charlotte has a "tendency" to rip up any type of pillow that you put in her kennel...not sure why because she fully enjoys having a doggy bed to lay on? So anyway, all those cute dog-beds are a waste of money for us because they always get ripped to shreds. So a few weeks ago, we found a "Chew-resistent" pillow at Target in the doggy isle. We were so excited to bring this pillow home for Charlotte and think we solved the problem. She can play with it AND use it for her bed. Well, i guess i couldn't be too surprised to come home and find this scene...

Every single piece of stuffing out of that dang pillow! LOL. She must have had fun.
